My journey started 14 years ago, sitting at my computer, mulling over the books I'd been reading, especially paranormal and vampire fiction. I had my favorites, and the ones I avoided.

I opened a blank page and started putting random thoughts and ideas down. Slowly, over three years, I had a complete novel. I self-published it and started a second. That one was done in a year. The third took six months.

Seven years later, I unpublished all three and went into a full rewrite: new edits, new covers, unified around a Raven theme that now runs through the entire series.

The core of my stories is a completely new take on what a vampire actually is. My vampires are unlike anything in any other novel or film. A realism where you could imagine one living next door.

My stories draw on real life. In no particular order: Private Investigator, Military specialist in Operations and Intelligence, gunsmith, top-tier Porsche and VW mechanic, and several years building and maintaining SCCA racing sports cars.

I used to visit Seattle and the surrounding areas regularly, which is why it became the setting for the Newmark Series.
